The Prom Project

Helping PP students feel like a million pound.

As someone who only spent £20 on her Prom dress I want to make sure other PP student's don't have to budget there dreams. We take pre-loved dresses and make them available to PP students for Prom to help them feel like the queens they are.

How it works for students?

  • Browse the Gallery and make a note of the dress reference numbers you like. (Example 14.1 blue) All dresses have a size on but we also recommend looking at dresses a size above and below your usual size as the structure of the dress can vary.

  • Fill out the form on the next webpage or message us on IG/Facebook and include details of your school and a contact at your school we can email. We recommend a student support officer that may work in your year/house office or your form tutor.

  • We will then arrange a date/time for you to try on your selected dresses at your school. Please note we can not bring more than 7 dresses.

  • You choose your favourite and we bring it to your school a week before prom.

  • You enjoy your prom in your free rental dress and then return it to your school office within a week after prom.

TO PARTICIPATE: Your school must be located in Cambridgeshire/Huntingdon, you must be a year 11, your parent/guardian must be willing to sign a contract of hire on your behalf and you must be a PP student or from a family with low income or disability.

How it works for donations?

  • Dig through your wardrobe and find the full length dresses you no longer wear.

  • Package and post your dress to us. Please include a letter with your name and the city you are from so we can thank you on our socials. (You can also include your socials and we will tag you).

  • We will photograph your dress and upload it to our online gallery.

  • Students are then able to wear your dress to prom free of charge and you get a big buzz of joy knowing you have helped to make a young lady feel like a queen for the day.
